1,2-Thio group migration in Rh(II) carbene reactions.

چکیده
[reaction: see text] A series of beta-thio group substituted alpha-diazo carbonyl compounds have been prepared by nucleophilic substitution reactions of thiophenol, thionaphthol, or benzyl mercaptan with beta-acetoxy-alpha-diazo carbonyl compounds. The diazo decomposition of these diazo carbonyl compounds with various transition metal catalysts, including Rh(II) carboxylates and Cu(I) and Cu(II) complexes, has been investigated. It was found that the diazo decomposition of these compounds gave 1,2-thio group migration products. No 1,2-hydride or 1,2-aryl migration products were observed in all cases.

Synthesis of New Chiral Benzimidazolylidene–Rh Complexes and Their Application in Asymmetric Addition Reactions of Organoboronic Acids to Aldehydes
A series of novel chiral N-heterocyclic carbene rhodium complexes (NHC–Rh) based on benzimidazole have been prepared, and all of the NHC–Rh complexes were fully characterized by NMR and mass spectrometry. These complexes could be used as catalysts for the asymmetric 1,2-addition of organoboronic acids to aldehydes, affording chiral diarylmethanols with high yields and moderate enantioselectivit...

Au-catalyzed rearrangement of alkynes has attracted considerable attention in recent years. In particular, the Au-catalyzed rearrangement of propargyl acetate generates Au–carbene species through 1,2-acetoxy migration. The Au–carbene species thus generated undergoes a variety of transformations. Moreover, Au-catalyzed rearrangement of propargyl acetate to allene through 1,3-shift of the acetoxy...
متن کاملStereoselective intramolecular 1,3 C-H insertion in Rh(II) carbene reactions.
[reaction: see text] 1,3 C-H insertion has been found to be a predominant reaction pathway in the Rh(II)-mediated reaction of beta-tosyl alpha-diazo carbonyl compounds.
متن کامل1,2-migration in rhodium(II) carbene transfer reaction: remarkable steric effect on migratory aptitude.
A series of diazo carbonyl compounds bearing different substituents have been prepared in order to investigate the steric effect in 1,2-migration reaction of rhodium(II) carbene. Through the investigation on the diazo decomposition of these compounds with Rh2(OAc)4, it was found that the steric effect could dramatically influence the migratory aptitude. In many cases, the steric effect could ov...
متن کاملInvestigation of Electronic Effects of Rh(II)-Mediated r-Methyl-Substituted Carbenoid Intramolecular C-H Insertion
The electronic effects of Rh(II)-mediated carbenoid intramolecular C-H insertion have been intensively investigated. The chemo-, regio-, and stereoselectivity of the reaction have been observed to be affected by the electrophilicity of the carbene-Rh intermediate, the substituents on the carbon at which the C-H insertion occurs, and steric and conformational factors.1 It has been well documente...
